About Dolphin Engineering
Dolphin Engineering is a Texas engineering firm focused on practical solutions for buildings, properties, and construction projects.
The firm was founded by Alex Dolphin, P.E., a civil engineer with experience across commercial, residential, construction, and infrastructure projects. That range of experience helps bring a broader perspective to projects that do not always fit neatly into one discipline or standard solution.
Dolphin Engineering works with homeowners, property managers, HOAs, contractors, and commercial clients who need straightforward engineering support without unnecessary complexity.
A Practical Approach
Good engineering should make a project easier to understand and easier to move forward.
Every project starts with understanding the problem, the constraints, and what the client is actually trying to accomplish. From there, the goal is to develop a practical solution that is technically sound, clearly communicated, and appropriate for the scale of the project.
That may mean reviewing an existing condition, helping define a repair, evaluating drawings, assisting with permitting, or simply helping a client understand their options before committing to a larger project.
Engineering Without the Runaround
Not every project needs a large consulting team or a complicated process.
Dolphin Engineering is structured to provide direct access to an engineer, clear communication, and focused technical support for projects where responsiveness and practical judgment matter.
If a project is a good fit, we will explain the next steps clearly. If it is not, we will tell you that too.
My Approach
Engineering should make decisions easier, not more complicated. I focus on understanding the problem, identifying practical options, and providing clear recommendations you can actually use.
The goal is always the same: safe, sensible, cost-conscious solutions without overengineering.
Practical Solutions
Recommendations are grounded in what makes sense for the project, the property, and the budget.
Clear Communications
I explain what matters, what the options are, and what I recommend without burying you in engineering jargon.
